What is  high Alumina cement(HAC)?
High Alumina cement(HAC) is manufactured by mixing of Bauxite( aluminium ore) and lime at a certain temperature(1600)
The initial setting time of high Alumina cement is about 3.5 - 4 Hrs and final setting time is about 5 Hours
Characteristics of High Alumina Cement are:-
3)High Alumina cement is also used in Pre Cast Concrete
The initial setting time of high Alumina cement is about 3.5 - 4 Hrs and final setting time is about 5 Hours
The setting of High Alumina cement is generally affected by the addition of plaster of Paris, lime, Portland cement and organic matter thus no additive should be used.
High Alumina cement is very reactive and has very high compressive strength.
1)Hardening property of High Alumina cement is fast.
2)The initial setting time of high Alumina cement is about
3.5 -4 Hrs
3)It has high durability in sulphuric acid.
3.5 -4 Hrs
4)The pH level of High Alumina cement is  low.
5)High resistant to chemical corrosion.
6)it forms ceramic bond at high temperatures so It acts as a bonding material when added in refractory castables
7)The refractive index of this cement is high.
Uses
1) High Alumina cement is mostly used in marine construction and sewer infrastructure
because of it's rapid hardening capacity.
2) High Alumina cement is also used in Refractory concretes where requires more strength at very high temperature.
